D-Day: British
The combined strength of both the British and American forces, combining all three branches of the Airforce, Navy, and Army struck across the beaches of Normandy trying to find a chink in the Germans impenetrable defences. The Germans put up a fight, making capturing the beaches hard, but the Allies secured a foothold on the beachheads. It was enough to withstand the following German Counter-attacks and eventually break out of Normandy. The war for western Europe was now being fought in earnest, as the Allies raced to liberate France and bring the war to Hitler’s front door.

Command Cards are entirely optional and can be added to your force in two ways. You can add them to your normal point cost, just as you would add a unit to your force, or you and your opponent can agree on a set amount of points that each may use just to add Command Cards to your lists.

Many Command Cards are hidden until they are used, so you’re never quite sure what your opponent’s battle plans are until they are revealed. While hidden, Command Cards do not affect their attached unit—a player must reveal them if they wish to gain the benefits of the card. Some Command Cards must be revealed at the start of the game; these cards are used to build your army and have the keyword 'Build'.

Command Card Previews

Following the assault divisions of the 3rd and 50th British, 3rd Canadian Divisions were the bunker-busting, mine-clearing, engineering tanks of the 79th Armoured Division. These tanks fought scattered across all three British and Canadian beaches in small task-organised breaching groups specifically built to breakthrough the German fortifications.

D-Day: British features the 11th Armoured Division and Guards Armoured Division, as well as the famed Desert Rats. With the command cards from this you can also field other armoured formations such as the 4th Canadian Armoured Division, 1st Polish Armoured Division, or the Sherwood Rangers.

You can also field a great variety of different infantry divisions from the British and Canadian forces including the 51st Highland Division, 2nd Canadian Division, and 43rd (Wessex) Division.

All these different division options give players the chance to re-fight the bloody battles in the hedgerows of Normandy and make a drive to capture Caen or close the Falaise Pocket, all with their favourite division.

The command cards also include additional unit options like 4.2-inch mortar Platoons and Sexton (25 pdr) self-propelled artillery.

There are also a number of prominent warriors from the fighting in Normandy like Stan Hollis, Peter Young, and Richard Pine-Coffin.
