XX651 Horse-drawn Limbers
Horse-Drawn Limbers (XX651)
Horse-Drawn Limbers
(XX651)
includes three horse-drawns limbers & three Medium bases.
On the Eastern Front the horse-drawn limber remained the main form of gun motive power throughout the entire war. Limber teams numbering from two to six horses were used to pull a variety of guns in the Soviet, German and Axis allied forces.
Check out the Horse-drawn Limbers in the online store here...
Usually six horse teams were used for field guns and howitzers from 75mm up to 105mm calibre, while smaller teams of two or four horses could be used for lighter weapons such as anti-tank guns and heavy mortars. Some heavier guns had up to twelve horses in limber teams.
The limber itself was used to carry ammunition, addition tools and equipment as well as transporting the crew, who were often found riding the horses while in limber. Smaller horse teams often pulled the limber and gun only while the crew kept pace by walking

"The horse-drawn limbers can be used for any period in Flames Of War; Early, Mid or Late-war."
"The horse-drawn limbers are a generic model and can be painted to represent any nation in Flames Of War."
"Horses are a major form of transport for Eurpean armies; they move as Wagons."
"Wagons can move up to 8"/20cm Cross Country; 12"/30cm on Roads and 4"/10cm in Rough Terrain. However, wagons can not move in terrain rated as Very Difficult Going."
