Horse-Drawn Limbers (XX651)

Horse-Drawn Limbers (XX651) includes three horse-drawns limbers & three Medium bases. On the Eastern Front the horse-drawn limber remained the main form of gun motive power throughout the entire war. Limber teams numbering from two to six horses were used to pull a variety of guns in the Soviet, German and Axis allied forces. Check out the Horse-drawn Limbers in the online store here...

Usually six horse teams were used for field guns and howitzers from 75mm up to 105mm calibre, while smaller teams of two or four horses could be used for lighter weapons such as anti-tank guns and heavy mortars. Some heavier guns had up to twelve horses in limber teams. The limber itself was used to carry ammunition, addition tools and equipment as well as transporting the crew, who were often found riding the horses while in limber. Assembling the Horse-drawn Limber

Step 1. Begin by attaching the horse shafts to the flat side of the horse pole.		Step 2. Next, add the wheels to the sides of the limber.

Step 3. Add the driver.	Step 4. Then, attach the horse pole to the front of the limber.	Step 5. Next, arrrange the horses on a medium base.	Step 6. Finally, add the limber; ensuring that the horse shafts are between and either sound of the horses. Next comes the painting.
