Type 97 Te-Ke Platoon (JBX05)

Type 97 Te-Ke Platoon (JBX05)

Type 97 Te-Ke Platoon (JBX05)
Includes five Type 97 Te-Ke Tanks & five tank commander figures.

The Type 97 Te-Ke was used as a reconnissance tank and was built for speed rather than combat. However some versions did mount a 37mm gun that would give the little tank quite a sting.

One-Man Turret
The hull and turret and turret of the Te-Ke were designed for only two crewmen, leaving the tankette commander to load and fire the main gun. Although this is sufficient for infantry support, in tank-versus-tank clashes the commander is faced with the impossible task of finding new targets and loading and firing the gun, while directing the driver as well.

Any tank with a One-man Turret that moves adds +1 to the score required to hit when shooting with its turret Main Gun. Machine-guns and Flame-throwers do not suffer this penalty. In addition, a tank with a One-man Turret may not fire both the turret Main Gun and the turret  machine-gun in the same turn.

Assembling the Type 97 Te-Ke
Step 1. With its single-piece resin hull, the Type 97 Te-Ke is a very easy model to assemble. We'll start off with the turret. It includes both 37mm and MG Turret options, so you can choose which to use in your games.

Alternatively, you may prefer to glue rare earth magnets into the recess in the hull and to the bottom of the turret. Magnets are a quick and secure way of fixing your turrets to the hulls, but they are a small added expense.

Rare Earth Magnets (XX105) are available through the online store here...

These 1mm x 5mm magnets fit perfectly into the round spaces in the hull and turret.

Step 2. For the hatch closed option, glue the hatch into the top of the turret. Please note the correct orientation, there should be a small circle and hatch handle on the top.

Step 3. For the open hatch option, glue the hatch in a vertical position with the long edge on the narrow overhang behind the hinges.
