includes two Type 94 37mm Anti-tank guns with crew, one Command Sword team, one Small three-hole base & two Medium bases.

The origins of the Type 94 37mm anti-tank gun were rooted in the Type 11 37mm Infantry Gun which had been pressed into service as a primitive anti-tank weapon. However, due to its low muzzle velocity it had limited success against armour therefore it was felt that a dedicated anti-tank gun was essential.

Type 94 37mm Anti-tank Gun (JP501) The Type 94 37mm anti-tank was based on the German 3.7cm PaK36 which had been previously tested by the Army Technical Bureau and like many Japanese designs featured a very low profile since it was intended to be operated from a squat or prone position. The breech operated in a semi-automatic manner; once a shell was loaded the case tripped a catch that closed the breech.  Once fired, the recoil mechanism opened the breech and ejected the spent casing.

During the battles of Khalkhyn Gol, the Type 94 proved effective against the Soviet light tanks but struggled to penetrate the armour of the more heavily armoured designs.

Gun Shields
Manning a gun in the thick of battle is a hazardous job. To offset the increased vulnerability of gun crews to enemy fire, many guns have a bulletproof gun shield.

Gun Shields provide your Gun teams with Bulletproof Cover from shots fired from in front of a line drawn across the front of the team’s base. Shots fired from behind this line hit the unprotected crew behind the shield.

Gun Shields do not provide cover to teams moving At the Double, nor from artillery bombardments.

The Type 94 rapid-fire gun is a dual-purpose weapon designed for anti-tank work and as an infantry support gun. Though only a light weapon, it proved effective during the Nomonhan battles against Soviet light tanks and armoured cars. On occasion the Japanese would press captured Soviet 45mm guns into service to replace lost Type 94 guns.
