The Road To Panzerschreck
Comagnia Carri (Tank Company)
With Wayne Turner
Once again I’ll be heading down to the annual Panzerschreck Flames Of War tournament in Palmerston North, New Zealand. As it has been for the last couple of years, it is a doubles tournament and this year’s period is Early-war.
I’ve teamed up with Victor again (former Battlefront graphic designer, now plying his trade in the real world).
|
Victor has chosen to take a German DAK Panzerkompanie, so I thought I’d throw together some Italians to fight alongside their historical ally. To keep with the tank theme, I’ve put together a small Compagnia Carri (tank company) made up of the following: |
Compagnia Carri (Tank Company) |
 |
Headquarters |
Compagnia Carri HQ |
With 1 x M13/40 tank |
65 points
|
Combat Platoons |
Carri Platoon |
With 5 x M13/40 tanks |
325 points |
Carri Platoon |
With 4 x M13/40 tanks |
260 points |
Divisional Support Platoons |
Self-propelled Coastal Gun Platoon |
With 2 x Autocannone da 102/35 |
240 points |
Light Anti-aircraft Platoon |
With Command Rifle team and 2 x 20/65 guns on 3-ton trucks |
50 points |
Total: |
940 Points |
|
The tournament requirement is for each player to have 1000 points, but you can move up to 100 points between the two players’ forces. Victor needed another 60 points for his Panzerkompanie, so I made my force 940 points. |

The little M13/40 tanks were a joy to paint. |
The Self-propelled Coastal Gun Platoon |
With the four self-propelled guns, I thinned the paint a little too much so had a bit of trouble with coverage when airbrushing. But I think they turned out OK. |
The Light Anti-aircraft Platoon |

|
I still need to finish basing the platoon command team. |
I’ve just got the dismounted versions of 20/65 anti-aircraft guns left to paint and base.
Once Panzerschreck is over, I’ll decide what extras I would like to add to the force – probably some infantry, artillery, aircraft, and a few more tanks.
