Kätzchen Armoured Personnel Carrier (GE280) Includes two resin and metal Kätzchen Armoured Personnel Carriers. The Gepanzerter Mannschaftstransportwagen Kätzchen (Armoured Personnel Carrier Kitten) was designed as a replacement for the long-serving Sd Kfz 251 half-track. It offered several improvements over the half-track including well-sloped armoured protection, fully-tracked mobility, and increased speed. Late-War Leviathans Forces in Europe, 1945+ During the course of World War II all the major powers were working onnew and radical designs of weapons and equipment, the most famous among them being the German Wunderwaffen, Wonder-Weapons, like the Maus super-heavy tank. The Allies were also busy developing the new designs incorporating lessons learned from the fighting as well as newly developed technology such as the American T-28 assault tank, the British Centurion universal tank, and the mighty Soviet IS-7 heavy breakthrough tank.

The X-7 Rotkäppchen (Red Riding Hood) anti-tank missile can also be mounted on the Kätzchen APC. The X-7 missile was designed and developed by Ruhrstahl AG in 1943 after the Heereswaffenamt (Army Ordnance Board) placed an order for anti-tank missiles.  The X-7 Rotkäppchen is a wire-guided rocket powered missile with its detonation achieved by use of an impact fuse. It was first used operationally on the Eastern Front, and it appears that this missile was extremely effective, even against the heavy armoured Stalin tanks.
