Jeep with 105mm Recoilless Rifle (US121)
 |
Jeep with 105mm Recoilless Rifle (US121) Includes two resin and metal Jeep with 105mm Recoilless Rifle.
In February 1944, the 57mm recoilless rifle was demonstrated to the US Army Infantry Board. After the demonstration it was recommended that similar recoilless weapons in 75mm and 105mm be developed.
Due to the M27 not having the heavy trail and recoil system of a conventional gun it could be mounted on a Jeep, allowing it to be easily moved from position to position and carry its own ammunition and crew.
