Sherman V (OFBX07)
The tough, hard-hitting, and mobile Sherman V tank is a match for most Panzers, and the Firefly VC is armed with a powerful 17 pdr gun to counter the new German heavy tanks.

The contents of this box allows you to assemble two Sherman V or Firefly VC tanks.

Already in service in 1943 was the excellent 17pdr anti-tank gun and it was decided to mount this in a Sherman turret. After some trial and error a mounting was affected. The new 17 pdr armed Sherman was dubbed the Firefly.

The Firefly was then issued to the armoured divisions, with most formations issuing them to the Armoured Troops as an extra tank, thus bringing the strength of a troop up to 3 Shermans and a Firefly.

T-34 (OFBX09)
The T-34 was the most-produced tank of World War II. When the German Wehrmacht first encountered it in battle in 1941, German tank generals von Kleist and Guderian called it “the deadliest tank in the world.”

The contents of this box allows you to assemble two T-34 tanks with both 76mm and 85mm turrets.

The fast-moving T-34 tank was the mainstay of the Red Army's tank force throughout the war. Entering battle in 1943, the improved 1942 model fought in every major engagement for the rest of the war. Despite improvements in enemy equipment, its 76mm gun was still adequate to deal with German medium tanks like the Panzer IV, especially as the T-34 outnumbered them two or three to one.

After encountering the Tiger and Panther tanks at Kursk, it was decided that the T-34 needed to be upgraded. This was done by creating a new turret with an 85mm gun.

In 1944 the first 500 SU-100 assault guns rolled off the production line at the Uralmarch factory in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg).Another 1175 were built in 1945. They began replacing SU-85 assault guns in the medium assault gun regiments and brigades in late 1944.

The SU-85M assault gun was a stop-gap measure utilising the new improved hull built for the SU-100. Not enough 100mm D-10S gun were initially available, so 85mm D-5 S-85 guns were mounted some early production hulls. The major advantage of the new hull was that is could carry up to 60 rounds instead of 48 of the SU-85 hull.
