XX702 Tank Traps The tank traps deployed on the beaches of Normandy were known as Czech Hedgehogs (Tschechenigel). They got their name from the fact that they had previously been part of the Czech border defences and they were somewhat spikey and hedgehog like.

They were made of angle-iron girders welded together in a caltrop like formation. They were often attached to concrete feet for greater stability and strength.
They were designed to trap and disable tanks while they were moving up the beach. The pack contains 15 Czech Hedgehog tank traps.
