The 2 cm FlaK 38 was developed from the earlier FlaK 30 anti-aircraft gun as a result of German experience in the Polish Campaign, where its rate of fire was seen as inadequate. The FlaK 38 fired 420 rounds per minute, compared to only 280 rounds for the FlaK 30.

The increased rate of fire made the FlaK 38 more effective against low-flying targets that could only be engaged for a brief moment.

The FlaK 38 could be set up quickly, it took only seconds to pull the locking pin and let the gun platform slide onto the ground.

In an emergency, the weapon could be fired from its u-shaped trailer.

The Flak 38 also used the same two-wheel trailer as the Flak 30 for increased mobility.

The Flak 38 began replacing the Flak 30 in the field in 1940, and was still robust enough to be found in action in great numbers at the end of the war.

The pack contains two FlaK38 guns and trailers, crew, drop canister and a command team.

In Flames Of War

The Fallschirmjäger can either take the Parachute Anti-aircraft Platoon for airborne operations or the larger Anti-aircraft Platoon for ground operations.
