LVT(4) Amtrac Section (UBX46)
Includes two LVT(4) Amphibious Tractors
Amphibious Tractors (Amtracs) were originally designed to carry supplies ashore. Their ability to cross coral reefs and sand meant that they were quickly modified with armour and machine-guns to allow the Marines to land infantry under fire.

Gung-Ho
The US Marine Corps has had a long and proud history, and the Pacific Campaign of 1941 to 1945 was perhaps its finest hour. They were the tip of the American spear, conducting amphibious assaults from Guadalcanal, through the Marshall Islands, Saipan, Tinian and Guam, and ultimately taking the Japanese posessions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa, in preparation to invade mainland Japan itself.

Assembling the LVT(4) Amtrac Section |
Step 1. With its one-piece resin construction, including the tracks, assembly of the LVT(4) model is quick and easy. Start by gluing the two side-mounted .30-cal MG's to the hull. |
Step 2. Next, glue the .50 cal AA MG to one the front gun mounts. |
Step 3. To add the Hull MG simply glue it into the corresponding small hole on the front glacis plate. |
Step 4. Finally glue the gunners in place behind each gun. |
Note: for convenience, you may want to paint the gunners and the MGs separately, then glue them in place afterwards. |
