Tactical Edge Cards in the Global Campaign One of the exciting things about taking part in the Hobby League is Tactical Edge feature. Tactical Edge cards are a series of 40 bonus cards that give players an advantage during Campaign battles.  First things first: You gain Tactical Edge cards at the end of your Hobby League process, by gaining achievements during the course of the Hobby League. These might include finishing platoons in your force, attending a Hobby League night, playing a game during Hobby League, or teaching another player how to play Flames Of War. At the end of the League, players are awarded up to four Tactical Edge cards at random from the deck.

Tactical Edge Cards can then be used during the D-Day: Global Campaign in your battles, to give yourself an extra advantage during play. The cards have their own instructions on them for when they can or must be used, and their effects are listed also. Once you’ve played a Tactical Edge card you have two choices- you can discard for the rest of the Campaign, or you can play the Karma optional rules, and in doing so give your opponent any Tactical Edge cards you play against them.

Movement Cards Some cards offer you a bonus in movement, giving you the chance to boost the ground you troops can cover in battle, or giving them better chances of making cross checks over difficult terrain. Click on the images to see a larger version

Combat Cards Sure to be some of the favourite cards in the deck, the various combat cards on offer can boost your troops’ shooting, assaulting, hitting, avoiding being shot. If used at a truly opportune moment, these cards could really turn the tide of battle- and if the Campaign is balanced on a knife-edge, such a card could have a far-reaching impact...

Recon Cards Miscellaneous Cards can be real fun, since their impact is more on your opponent than on your opponent’s troops. Some of these cards include the ability to steal an opponent’s Tactical Edge card, move an Objective during the game, or to cancel the effect of any Tactical Edge card played.
