I’m a huge fan of the Early-war and Mid-war period in Flames Of War and have been anticipating the release of Blitzkrieg for a long time. When deciding what force I was going to create for Early-war, I decided to build the bulk of the army around models that I could use both in France for Blitzkrieg but also in Soviet Union when I’m constructing lists out of the Eastern Front for Mid-war. Despite already having several German tank companies, I’ve never painted a Panzer 38(t) before and that made my decision easy; these cool looking little tanks would form the backbone of my Czech Panzer Company. Once that was decided, the rest of the list just fell into place. The Company HQ had to be pair of Panzer 38(t)s; therefore I went with two full strength platoons of Panzer 38(t)s along with a full strength platoon of the compulsory Panzer IIs. I also added in a Recovery Vehicle in the form of a Sd Kfz 9 (18t) as I tend to have terrible luck rolling bogging checks. The Panzer II isn’t as good as the Panzer 38(t) but they do have a slightly higher rate of fire which maybe useful in certain situations (it also makes the army look a little less one dimensional). Lastly I added in some reconnaissance in the form of four Sd Kfz 231 (8 rad). See all the Staff Early War armies here...
