Cannone da 47/32 Modello 35
As well as being used extensively by the Bersaglieri the 47/32 gun was also used by the Fucilieri and Alpini.
It was widely issued to the Fucilieri who used it in both North Africa and Russia. Its low profile (with the wheels removed) made it a great asset in the open terrain of the desert.
Its lack of a gun shield did not cause a problem as the crew could serve it from low lying dug-in positions, with only the gun barrel itself being exposed.
It was also adopted for the Alpini as it was easily broken down into smaller loads for transportation on pack animals for mountain operations.
On many occasions both troop types use it as an infantry support weapon firing its small, but effective, high explosive rounds in support of attacks or defence.
In Flames Of War
The Fucilieri have available four 47/32 guns a Support Anti-tank gun platoon.
The Alpini have available up to two Support Anti-tank gun platoons.
