Panzersturm Platoon (GE848) (Direct Only) Includes one Command Panzerfaust Assault Rifle team and Six Panzerfaust assault rifle teams, one Small three-hole base, one Small two-hole base, & six Medium four-hole bases. They merge the assault firepower of the StG44 assault rifle with the mobility and long-ranged firepower of the Sd Kfz 251 half-track. The result is ideal for an aggressive assault role. The half-tracks get the troops close, then cover them as they dismount and assault. As they are also equipped with Panzerfaust anti-tank launchers, the Sturm platoons are capable of taking on almost any threat.

Berlin: German In January 1945 the German Ardennes offensive in the west failed to force the Allies to the negotiating table. The British and Americans are ready to cross into Germany. The newly-raised Panzerdivision ‘Clauswitz’ and troops from the schools and training battalions are thrown into the fight. Every fighting man is utilised in the defence of the Reich. In the east, the Germans traded ground for time, falling back into western Poland and east Prussia and establishing Festerplatz, or fortress cities. An eerie calm settled in for the first few weeks of the new year as both sides prepare.

The ability to conduct effective offensive operations at night has long been recognized as a tactical advantage. However, until the 20th Century, there had been no effective way to permit people to retain anything approaching their daylight levels of visual acuity during night-time operations. New technological developments including cathode ray tubes and oscillators meant that by the 1930s night vision devices had entered the realm of feasibility. Infra-red equipment allows troops to see further at night, using a spectrum of light not seen with the naked eye. This equipment allowed panzers to launch local spoiling attacks at night in conjunction with infra-red ZG 1229 Vampir (Vampire) equipped infantry.

Assembling The Platoon Command Assault Rifle Team To assemble the Platoon Command Assault Rifle team, simply arrange the Platoon Commander figure, one NCO figure and one Panzerfaust figure on one of the Small three-hole bases provided in the blister pack.

Note: NCO figures are contained in Command teams as well as being spread out amongst to rest of the units. They are contained in Command teams as well as spread out amongst to rest of the units.

Assembling The Assault Squad An Assault Rifle Platoon consists of the HQ Section containing the Command Assault RifleTeam (which we've already covered) and Three Assault Squads. Each of these Assault Squads contains two Panzerfaust Assault Rifle teams. The first Panzerfaust Assault Rifle team needs to contain one NCO figure, one Panzerfaust figure, and two Assault Rifle figures while the second team simply contains one Panzerfaust figure and three Assault Rifle figures. The Panzerfaust Assault Rifle teams are modelled on the Medium four-hole bases included in the blister pack.
