Rules and Regulations

 Rules

  • As this is a National’s event, all models must have at least 3 differentiable colours of paint on the model themselves, and every area of the model must be at minimum base-coated; no Silver Surfers. A further requirement is that both you and your opponent must be able to differentiate between platoons. (Example: paint infantry bases different colours)
  • Rounds will be determined by the Swiss system. Be prepared to play all armies.
  • Missions will be selected via the Flames of War Extended Mission Matrix
  • A player may use a battle stance (Attack, Maneuver, Defend) as much as they wish throughout the tournament. At the beginning of each round, the Tournament Director or Tournament Organizer will roll a die and all tables will use that die roll to determine which mission they will be playing.
  • Rules will conform to Rules as Written (RAW), except where noted by:

                https://www.flamesofwar.com/portals/0/Documents/Version4/LessonsFromTheFront-V4.pdf

  • Players are responsible for monitoring their time, and judges will announce time intervals throughout the tournament. A true act of sportsmanship is not starting a new turn if both players will not be able to finish that turn. The game should be called if both players cannot finish their turn and the results should be calculated.
  • Time will be called 2 hours and 15 minutes into the round. Players will then have 15 minutes to finish up the current round. If the current round cannot be finished in this time or the players will not hit the required turn count, then both players starting with the player who had the first turn will immediately perform their starting step up to and including Check Formation Last Stand. Once both players have done this, the players will check the victory conditions per the mission they are playing and determine whether there is a victory or a draw.
  • Terrain should be discussed with your opponent prior to game play. ASSUME NOTHING. In case of a disagreement, roll off.
  • Army lists must be submitted to [email protected] ; ideally using https://forces.flamesofwar.com/ please include the following information:
    • Player's full name
    • Player's email address
    • Book or website reference (For example: American: Bulge)
    • Any travel companions that you would not like to be matched up against during the first round.
  • Please refer to the following list of books for legal armies (Note: there will be no Late War Leviathans):
    • Fortress Europe
    • D-Day American
    • D-Day German
    • D-Day British
    • D-Day Waffen-SS
