PT-34 Mine Roller

PT-34 Mine Roller (SU057)

Outside of Orsha the Germans have prepared a series of fortifications that include a copious amount of minefields. The ever industrious engineers of the Soviet army have developed the specialised PT-34 tank fitted with large heavy rollers which detonated mines under its weight. When fielded enmasse, these mine rollers cleared large paths for the following tanks and infantry.

This pack contains five separate mine rollers and five medium bases. You can then attach to your normal T-34 obr 1942 tanks to help clear those pesky enemy minefields! This opens up a whole lot of ways you can model your mine roller tanks.

One idea is to glue the roller boom onto the T-34 and base the roller. The boom rests well on the roller and is also removable for those games you leave the rollers behind.

Alternatively, you can glue the whole apparatus to the T-34 tank, making it a single model. This helps a lot when trying to move the tank around the battlefield!

If you do this, one tip is to pin the mine roller axle to the boom as it is a weak point and need a little more reinforcement.

In Flames Of War

PT-34 tanks equipped with mine rollers use the Mine Flails and Rollers rules found on page 215 of the rulebook. This will help your Soviet force to breakthrough the German fortifications!
