BA-64 (x2) (SU302) Broneavtomobil-64 The BA-64 armoured car (Broneavtomobil) was based upon the GAZ-64 jeep. It was fitted with an armoured body with sloped armour and was influenced by the German Sd Kfz 221 design. The BA-64 was the first Soviet four-wheel drive armoured car, it could climb 30° slopes (18° in wet conditions) and cross a 900mm deep ford. This product is no longer currently available for sale...

It was armed with a turret-mounted 7.62mm DT machine gun. A crew of two operated the vehicle. As well as its sloped armour the survivability of the BA-64 was increased by the use bullet-proof tyres.     Unfortunately the BA-64 proved top-heavy and could easily overturn on rough sloped terrain. In 1943 this was improved by widening the vehicle, this model became the BA-64B. About 3,500 BA-64s were built during World War Two.
