Battle of El Alamein: War in the Desert

Step 1. Begin assembly of the Panzer IV by attaching the lower front hull section to the front of the hull. Step 2. Next, add the spare track links to the front of the lower hull.
Below: The spare track links in place. Step 3. Attach the rear hull plate to the back of the lower hull.
Step 4. Next, attach the exhaust muffler to the rear hull plate. Step 5. Attach the top hull section to the lower hull section of the Panzer IV.
Below: The two hull sections successfully joined. Step 6. Next, attach the left-hand side track to the lower hull section.
Step 7. Attach the right-hand side track to the lower hull section. Step 8. Join the two halves of the turret.
Step 9. Next, attach the rear turret stowage bin to the back of the turret. Step 10. Attach the cupola to the top of the turret.
Below: The cupola in place. Step 11. Attach the turret mantlet to the front of the Panzer IV turret. Step 12. For the Panzer IV (short 7.5cm), attach the separate gun mantlet to the front of the turret.
Below: The short 7.5cm gun mantlet in place. Step 13. Finally, attach the short 7.5cm to the gun mantlet.
Below: The fully assembled Panzer IV (short 7.5cm). Step 14. For the Panzer IV (long 7.5cm), attach the top half of the gun mantlet to the top of the long 7.5cm gun.
Step 15. Finally, attach the long 7.5cm gun to the front of the turret. Below: The fully assembled Panzer IV (long 7.5cm).
 
Step 1. To add a tank commander, use the open cupola rather than the closed version. Step 2. Next, add a tank commander to the inside of the open cupola.
To attach the turret to the hull, you can use rare earth magnets (sold separately in the online store here). Simply attach one to the bottom of the turret and the top of the hull. Learn more about using rare earth magnets here.
The other option is to use the turret peg found on the plastic sprue. To do this, simply attach the peg to the bottom of the turret. The turret peg then simply mates with the hole in the top of the hull.
