Operation MOAB: Part 5
The Race to the Finish
Michael Wong: It’s been a desperate race to the finish line for Richard and me with only two more nights to go till we kick off MOAB 2009. This week has seen plenty of frantic activity, but also the completion of many of our terrain projects. That satisfaction doesn’t last long when there’s still so much to do. Big thanks this week once again to Dean for his continued help, but also to David Robinson and Andrew “The Wargaming Machine” Parr for their considerable help.
|
I also owe a huge thanks to my wife Nadya not only for helping out with
all the terrain making craziness but also for her patience – as you can
see from some pictures below I’ve managed to take over our dining room
and kitchen for the last week with a mountain of paint, sand, flock,
glue and Styrofoam.
The field is firming up with 42 players registered and while we were up
for the challenge two months ago for 60 players we’re both glad that
there’s nine less tables to worry about! We didn’t have the time to
write up a full article this week we’ve been so busy, but we’ve
prepared a picture update of all the work to show you all where we are
at.
Next week we’ll make another brief update and list the winners of MOAB,
as well as have some early pictures of all the finished tables. Our
full article on how the tournament went will be the week following next.
Remember that anyone can pop along and visit MOAB, peruse the trader
stands and see the tables for themselves this weekend at the Sylvania
Heights Community and Youth Club Box Road, Sylvania. If you’re coming along feel free to find Richard or myself, we’re always happy for a chat.
