SS Panzergrenadier Platoon
(GE791)
The Waffen-SS was essentially equipped in the same manner as the Heer troops. The SS were among the first combat troops to make use of camouflage uniforms and had their own patterns of camouflage that differed to those used by other forces.
Reversible camouflage combat smocks were popular equipment and were worn widely among SS Troops. Matching camouflage helmet covers were also used extensively.
Some elements of the Luftwaffe Herman Göring Division were also issued SS pattern camouflage smocks, so these miniatures can be used for those units fighting in Sicily and Italy.
For more detail on painting SS Camouflage see Simons Hooker’s excellent article.
Painting SS Camouflage clothing…
SS-Panzergrenadiers wore the white Waffenfarbe (Arm of Service Colour for piping on shoulder boards) of the infantry as opposed to the grass green Waffenfarbe worn by Heer Panzer Grenadiers.
Pack contains a 3 Squad platoon, plus an additional command team to make up your Company HQ.
