Lancia da 90/53

Autocannone da 90/53 - Lancia 3 RO Chassis
The Italian Cannone da 90/53 was an excellent weapon that compared favourably with the German 8.8cm anti-aircraft gun. It was a good, sound modern design.
At first glance the 90/53 resembles the 8.8cm Flak weapons, but closer inspection reveals many differences. The 90/53’s arrangement of the fire control instruments was quite different from those of the German guns and the barrel was of one-piece construction instead of the multi-section arrangement of the German gun.
The Italians used the 90/53 as a multi-purpose weapon. The most common variant being the Lancia da 90/53, where the gun was mounted on a Lancia 3 RO 6-ton truck for ease of mobility. In this form they could be use for anti-aircraft, as an infantry support weapon or as a devastating anti-tank weapon.
In Flames Of War
The Lancia da 90/53 can be found supporting Italian companies in the desert as a Divisional Support choice.
The 90mm gun is an excellent weapon: Range 40”/100cm, ROF 3, AT 13, 3+ and a anti-aircraft weapon.
