Well here we are, the company is complete and ready for the field. Seeing a new army all done and prepared always makes me feel a sense of accomplishment. Working to a deadline was actually a benefit in this case as it helped keep my hobby focus on the one job at hand.
The Grenadiers were a good choice as all the platoons are fairly standard, core-range units. I can easily build off this list to add planes, heavier armor, recon or build up the Anti-tank capabilities of the infantry units.
A big point on painting an army like this is continuity, obviously the uniforms help but the basing is a huge part of the over-all look of it. Making sure that there are no disharmonious elements allows them to meld together into one and helps create the desired “reality” that many hobbyists enjoy when playing.
All-in-all I’m pleasantly surprised with how well this unit came together, I can’t wait to see how it does on the field of battle.
