In June 1941, the US Army was in dire need of a tank destroyer; this lead to the adaptation of the M3 half-track to mount a 75mm gun and the creation of the M3 75mm GMC. Despite its rapid development and deployment, it proved successful on the battlefront and lead to the design of the T30 75mm HMC.
Product Update
Starting in November 2010 this product will be discontinued from production. US141 - T19 105mm HMC blister has been modified to include the required components.

The T30 75mm HMC mounted a M1A1 75mm howitzer and was never type classified as it was always seen as a stop gap measure. First deliveries of the vehicle were made in February 1942 with the initial production vehicles lacking the gun shield. However, this was quickly remedied after experiences with the M3 75mm GMC.

Making it combat debut during the campaign in North Africa during 1942, the T30 75mm HMC later fought in Sicily in 1942 and on to Italy in 1944. However, it was slowly replaced by the M8 Scott HMC that was based on the M5 Stuart light tank.
