Machine-gun Platoon (Folgore) (IT744) Paracadutisti Machine-gun Platoon Like all Italian infantry the Paracadutisti are supported by their own machine-guns. The machine-gunners wait until short range to open fire, keeping hidden until then while the paracadutisti sneak around the flanks to counterattack.

This technique is very effective and allows the paracadutisti to beat many times their numbers. This ‘Folgore tactic’ has helped create the myth that the Folgore Division will never be overrun.
