Panzerschreck XVIII Organisers Report With Tom Robertson 32 players in 16 teams arrived in sunny Palmerston North for the 18th Panzerschreck Late War Flames of War Doubles Tournament. Joining the local teams were visitors from all over the North Island. And this year no snow to make life interesting, just long trips and sunshine.

The Teams format allows us to have more players in our smallish school hall for maximum gaming fun, special mention for Placemakers Ltd for loaning us the larger tabletops required for doubles for the weekend.
The team format again worked really well this year with everyone enjoying themselves with lots of positive feedback, although that may well have been because of the tasty steak, sausage or bacon sandwiches and free tea and coffee! The Bring and Buy table was busy with a wide range of product and a very large amount from Battlefront that drove out fast, plus the presence of Scott Bowman’s trader stand from Paraparaumu on Sunday resulted in some serious money being spent. All the armies were very well painted many to very high standards.

We’re looking forward to the challenge of organising next years Panzerschreck 2019 doubles tournament using the Team Yankee rules. Special thanks to Battlefront for the generous prize support to go with the winners medals. ~Tom
Some of the Battlefront Studio team took the road trip down for the weekend of gaming. On the return leg they stopped off at the New Zealand National Army Museum for a tour behind the scenes. We will have pictures next week, but for now enjoy the Bailey Bridge model (above), Scorpion and Valentine tanks (bottom).
