Fucilieri Platoon (IT702) The Fucilieri, the riflemen, are the backbone of the Royal Army. They are not volunteers; they are recruited from those eligible for conscription. They are not in it to be heroes, but often the reluctant heroes are the greatest. They are there to get the war won and return home to their farms and villages.

Armed with the old Carcano 91 rifle and a few new Breda 30 machine-guns, the Fucilieri must rely on their courage more than on technology. Often their only support is the brave gunners of the artillery, together, on whatever front, they stand against the tide of the allied war machine. In Flames Of War The Fucilieri are Regular troops, but they have large Platoons of 9 teams making them hard to break despite 50% of your Fucilieri platoons being Reluctant. You can upgrade them from Rifle teams to Rifle/MG team for extra, and worthwhile, firepower.

Another great option is to add Passaglia bombs giving them a handy anti-tank capability (AT 3 in assaults). The Fucilieri Platoon can also be used to represent Alpini and Mussolini’s Blackshirts, but more about them in the coming weeks. Designed by Evan Painted by Jeremy
