US Global Campaign Visits

Battlefront US has spent plenty of time out in the community playing games and supporting events. Since kicking off the D-Day: Global Campaign weeks ago, the epic struggle for control of Normandy has proven a welcome excuse to head out to local Game Stores and Clubs and get involved in the games.

Gajo Games in Sandy Utah is a huge supporter of Flames Of War and Team Yankee. The owner Craig has been playing for a number of years and was very excited to bring the Global Campaign to his community. Given his location, he has players come from all of the surrounding states to be a part of his events and continue to grow both communities.

“With Flames Of War kicking off a Global Campaign set in Normandy, we wanted to start things off right. So for our Flames Of War open play day in October, we did a large game with US and British forces assaulting a group of German forces, set in typical Norman terrain. The scenario saw the Allies trying to force one of the many river lines in the area using British forces from Fortress Europe and US forces from D-Day: American. The German defenders included a Luftwaffe field force, and a stronger panzer and panzergrenadier force. The game was great, with the Allies breaching the river line but taking heavy casualties, leaving the German forces holding on with a very narrow victory. Excellent fun! Next was the second stage of the Battlefront global Normandy campaign. After a good showing by the German forces during stage one, the Allies really recovered for stage two, winning on all three of the campaign paths for this stage. All of the games were very close, but the Allies prevailed and will have some advantages on each route during the next stage. Great fun all around.

At Legions Hobbies and Games in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania with close to 20 players, 10 of which are recording games on the campaign site the Axis came out strong at the start and has maintained a steady lead in victories against the combined Allied forces. We play out our battles every Friday evening, here are some pictures of our weekly campaign night from the 15th. Thwarting them at every turn. The Germans on the beaches and the fields beyond have managed to stem the tide, buying time for the Panzer Divisions inland to be mobilized for support. We're excited to see what the coming weeks will bring, and if the Allies will be able to gain the initiative after a short rest for the holiday.

Gamers Revolt in Fort Plain New York has been a huge success story when it comes to Flames Of War. Owner Chris Kazilas is a fan of the game and it shows. He has built his community up well with the Global Campaign and similar events.

The Global Campaign has been a great success for helping out the growth of the community at Gamers Revolt.  Since it started they have had 5 new players start playing. “Gaming has been a pleasure to do and I hope to see more things like this to help keep the community alive and active” says Kazilas.  So far, the German army is keeping the allies at bay in the beaches somehow. Whether the dice gods smile on them or the fact that most of the allies are newer to the game has yet to be determined, but I’ve seen families grow though gaming here and I’m glad to be part of that.
