Canadian Flames Of War Nationals 2019 Report Canadian Flames Of War Nationals was a great success! It was a good last huzzah for Early War at 1750pts.
30 players showed up with a wide variety of lists form a wide variety of nations. Of course the major powers had representation, but we also saw Finnish, French, Slovaks, Italians and more! The scores were tight to the end, with no clear winner until after the last mission!
Day one everyone was fighting fair. After a fire alarm halted our progress first thing in the morning, the randomly decided missions landed us with Dust Up, Encounter, and Free for All. Armies sparred and duelled to standstills everywhere, meaning that only a couple people made it out of the first day without a loss or tie. There were many people hoping to pull ahead going into the second day.

Day two saw a little more of a spread of missions with Breakthrough, Hasty Attack, and a mission many people haven’t played in a long time: Annihilation. A few decisive victories and devastating losses separated the pack and by the end of the day James Best had won it all and earned his place at Masters!
