Flames Of War Logo New Zealand Mid-war Doubles Grand Tournament Results

The weekend of the 21-22 May 2011 saw Battlefront host the Mid-war edition of the New Zealand Grand Tournament. Unlike other New Zealand Grand Tournaments that Battlefront have hosted in the past, this event featured a Doubles format; with two players joining forces, each fielding a 1000 point army. This meant that 4000 points worth of Flames Of War models were in action during each game.

With such a spectacle, there was plenty of action over the five rounds of play as players clashed in a determined effort to be the ones to take home the coveted prize of Best Overall. Featuring missions such as No Retreat, Fighting Withdrawal and the new Dust-Up mission meant that there were plenty of interesting match-ups and considerations that the players had to think about when compared with a singles competition. This forced the players to think outside the box, presenting a new and exciting way to play Flames Of War.
Once the dust had settled after the fifth round and all the results were in, we had had our winners. We’d like to thank all the players that entered for making this event such a success and we look forward to seeing you later this year for the 2011 New Zealand Late-war Tournament.
