Two Models

ZIS-5 (along with its similar looking comrade the Gaz-AA) was the mainstay of the Soviet transport fleet until the introduction of large number of lend-lease American trucks. It was based on the American Autocar truck.
In 1941 the production line at ZIS was stopped and moved to Ulianovsk and to Miass as the German invaders closed in. Miass and Ulianovsk produced ZIS-5 from 1942-1944.

By 1942 the main ZIS factory was re-located in Moscow and restarted production of ZIS-5 continuing until 1947. The new UralZIS plant in Miass started the production line in the summer of 1944 and put their own logos on the radiators, continuing production until 1955.
