Regimental Support Platoons (GGE705) Regimental Support Platoons (GGE705)
includes three Minenwerfer Mortar teams, two 3.7cm TaK guns with crew, five Medium four-hole bases & two Base plug sprues.

With British tanks on the prowl, the German army has developed several weapons to deal with them.

Great War
The Great War of 1914-18 was global in its reach. Yet this global conflict would be decided by the mighty clashes upon the battlefields of Europe.

One of these is the relatively light-weight 3.7cm TaK gun, built by Rheinmetall. It has the ability to penetrate enemy tanks’ armour and knock them out. It’s low profile also makes it suitable to move across no-man’s-land to support the infantry.

No HE
Some weapons come equipped only with armour-piercing ammunition, and have no high explosive ammunition at all, reducing their effectiveness against infantry and ‘soft’ targets.

Hits from weapons with No HE cannot be allocated to Infantry or Gun teams. If only Infantry and Gun teams
are valid targets, all hits from weapons with No HE are ignored completely as the anti-tank gun has no targets.

Gun teams with No HE are not completely helpless against Infantry teams though as they can shoot as Rifle teams if necessary (see page 117 of the rulebook).

Infantry alone lack the firepower to dig out enemy troops and fortifications. To address this problem the German army employs the Minenwerfer (mine-thrower or mortar). Its high explosive shells are essential for knocking out enemy strong points. When British tanks are about, the Minenwerfer can be used to combat these beasts in an anti-tank role.

Trench Guns
Trench guns and mortars are specially designed to give the infantry their own close-support artillery. They are small enough to fit in trenches and light enough to be carried forward to assist in the assault.

Trench Guns can enter, cross, and be deployed in Trenches as though they were Man-packed guns. Trench Guns use a medium base and face the long edge, like Man-packed gun teams.
