Contains two 155mm wz. 17 guns with 10 crew and three optional 105mm wz. 29 gun barrels.

"Remember, the Heavy Artillery Batteries may not be deployed in Ambush."
In essence, the 155mm C mle 1917 S howitzer was a 155mm C mle 1915 S howitzer fitted with a different breech mechanism to accept a bagged propellant charge rather than a cartridge contained propellant. The French made the switch due to the high costs involved in manufacturing the brass casings for the 155mm C mle 1915 S howitzer.

At the start of World War Two, the Polish Army had over two hundred of these guns in service with the Heavy Artillery Batteries of the infantry divisions and like most equipment from armies opposing Germany; they also saw service in the German Army as the 15.5 cm sFH 17(p) after the fall of Poland.

"Each infantry division also has a heavy artillery battalion with two batteries, each of three weapons. The first battery is equipped with the 105mm wz. 29 gun, a modified version of the French 105mm Model 1913 artillery piece. The second battery is armed with the 155mm wz. 17, old French 155mm Model 1917 howitzers. Both guns are manufactured by Schneider and share a common carriage."

You may not field a Heavy Artillery Battery unless you are also fielding a Light Gun Battery.

"The 155mm wz. 17 hotwitzer is rated as Bunker Buster. If the 155mm wz. 17 howitzer scores a hit on an infantry team inside of a building it also scores a hit on every other team in the building."

"The 155mm wz. 17 howitzer has a Gun shield which means that even if you fail a Gun save, your opponent must make a Firepower test to destroy that team. But remember, Gun shields only provide Bulletproof cover from shots fired from in front of the gun."

"When firing bombardments, the 155mm wz. 17 howitzer has plenty of range (72"/180cm) and the firepower (2+) to soften up dug in infantry anywhere on the tabletop. In direct fire, the 155mm wz. 17  howitzer packs a serious punch (Anti-tank 10) despite its short range (16"/40cm). This can make opponents think twice before trying to overrun your artillery battery."
