Melbourne Flames Of War Spring Tournament
Melbourne Flames Of War Spring Tournament After many rescheduling’s and a dogged determination not to give up the Simpson Barracks Gaming Group finally got to host the what was originally planned as the Winter Tournament but turned into Spring Tournament on the weekend 20 -21 November 2021, at the Simpson Barracks Sergeants Mess, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This was a charity focused fund-raising event, raising funds for Soldier-On Australia. A veteran’s support group, run by veterans for the veterans. A two-day, five round 100-point event that saw 10 players plus the TO battling it out.
The major sponsor for the event was House of War Melbourne, who came to the party and were absolutely fantastic in the donation of a resin 3D printer and a US Bulge Battle Force. The other great sponsor was Dice of War who donated some excellent dice sets. These were used as some excellent raffle prizes.
As there were a number of new players attending the event who had never played Flames of War before it was decided to break the tournament into two divisions. A random draw was used to determine the first round and then a modified swiss chess system was used to determine each round after that. With the recent release of the US Bulge book there was no surprise that there were three US Bulge lists present. Player and army lists were as follows:
