Matt S's Hobby League PARAS PARAS PARAS this is all I’ve been painting since the Hit The Beach boxset came out, and I have rather enjoyed it. The Jeeps are a dream to put together and paint and even in Portugal I was able to quickly and to a good standard paint 70points in just 5 days. Next up for me is some 57mm AT guns. However my first love in the form of my Germans are waiting for me and I have a sizeable amount of work to do on a Recon company with Spearhead-ing Puma.

This week it has been about the Panzer Lehr for me. I have been cheeky and blagged a copy of the German D-Day book a little early and started dragging out my old unpainted Germans. So this is going to be a full list of sdkfz 250 and infantry, with Pumas and artillery. I loved painting the US Paras but my first love will always be Germans and the lovely AFV and troops they can bring to the table. I can’t share anything else at the moment as the book isn’t officially out but it is seriously awesome and has got me really excited to start a second Hobby League Army.

Played a blue on blue game vs Andy from the Thursday night gaming club with my US Para Troops and I have found that Jeeps are awesome! I managed to spearhead a large portion of my force onto the right-hand flank and completely upset his battle plan. I got flanking shots onto his Shermans with my 105mm guns, as well as my Para Platoons into assault range by turn 2. This meant that I had a comfortable win for my first 100pt game and frankly I wouldn’t change much with my list. Although I am toying with the idea of painting the insignia onto the paratroopers after I have seen Victor from the Big 4 of Late War’s US Paras… But I am also working on my Recon Force for German DDAY with lots of Pumas, Sd Kfz 250s and Panzer IVs on my desk.
