Soviet Flame-thrower Platoon (SU717)
Soviet Flame-thrower Platoon
(SU717)
During WW2 every army employed some form of backpack flame-throwers for their assault troops. Throwing out jet after jet of burning fuel at the enemy, they were ideal for clearing trenches and bunkers, and effective against tanks.
In Flames Of War
Like their tank-mounted counterparts, Infantry Based flamethrower units are excellent for pinning down your opponents units. Against infantry or gun and transport teams any hit automatically pins the whole platoon. Stands that are hit get no save so are destroyed automatically.
Right: Officer with pistol not included in blister
Because Soviet flame-thrower troops are specialists consisting of whole teams armed with multiple flame-throwers they get 4 dice per team when they fire their weapons, but remember it is a one shot weapon and so use them wisely.
Tanks hit by a flame-thrower do not make armour saves, instead they roll a dice. On a roll of 6 the tank is destroyed anything else and the crew bail out.
Remember your Flame-thrower Platoon is broken up and attached your Strelkovy Companies before the start of the game.
