King of the Playtesters! With the end of another year of playtesting at Battlefront HQ we thought we might spend out last night of the year having some high speed social games, rather than do something too serious. We agreed on 1000 points, 60 minute games to ensure that we got through three rounds in one evening and to encourage aggressive tactics. Mike volunteered to act as the organiser and keep things moving along in a timely fashion.

Other than some highly suspect bottles of Coca-Cola (made in Vietnam, not for sale outside of Vietnam but somehow shipped to NZ) it was a great way to end another year of gaming. We were also reminded that draws can be very costly with a number of players suffering greatly on the VP front for not playing hard or fast enough!

At the end of the evening there was a clear winner (at least that is what the “winner” said) with Chris taking out the title of King of the Playtesters. Mike has called for an official judges ruling since he stepped aside in the last round to avoid one of the other players having a bye – perhaps we can convince the two of them to have a New Years grudge match – Chris’ Hungarian Zrinyi Company vs Mike’s Romanian Infantry Company!
