2013 US Master Report
2013 US Master Report
with David Griffin
The closing act of our 2013 has been played out. The top eighteen players from across the North American continent came together at the Embassy Suites Hotel at the airport in Philadelphia in comradeship to fight it out to see who would take home the title of Masters Champion this year.
Six rounds over two days is enough to burn a lot of people
out, add in the need to switch up armies and tactics after the first day
and the possible reserves your opponent could call in and nerves were
getting frayed towards the end. All-in-all everyone seemed to have a
good time and spirits remained high throughout the weekend. |
The Masters format was a bit different this year with each participant needing to make both a Mid-War and Late-War army. These armies must be from the same nationality but cannot be of the same army type (i.e. Tank, Mechanised, Infantry, and Fortified).
Also, for each time period the player had the choice of an additional
250 point reserve force chosen from their army list. We played three
rounds of Mid-War on Friday and three rounds of Late-War on Saturday. |
I had a wonderful time this weekend playing the stand-in to even the number of players and generally getting beat up by the best players on the continent…. I still blame the dice.

After the dust cleared, everyone sat down and had a wonderful dinner and talked about various points of interest, most conversation I overheard oddly seemed to revolve around Flames Of War. Strange that.
