Flames Of War at the IPMS Show

Flames Of War at the IPMS Show:
21 – 22 September 2013 in Auckland, New Zealand.
with Andrew Haught

During the weekend of the 21 – 22 September 2013 I had the pleasure of volunteering my time and expertise promoting Flames Of War at the Battlefront booth at the IPMS Model.

These kinds of events are fun to attend as a gamer; I relished the eye candy and took plenty of notes in an attempt to increase my painting scores when competing at Flames Of War tournaments. It was a great event to attend in terms of promoting FlamesCon being held in October; exposing a new audience to the world of Flames Of War that had never seen or heard of historical wargaming.

I enjoyed the array of models and was surprised to see the shear amount models on display; everything from planes to tanks and everything in between. Where most model shows I have attended in the United States tend to favour aircraft, it was a nice to see such a wide selection of different kits on display.

All in all a very fun event to attend.

Below: A man after my own heart; a KingForce Churchill, one of my favourite flames of war armies to play is my KingForce army.
Below: This one was geared to exterminate the competition but I happened to have my sonic screwdriver on me and foiled its plans. To keep none the wiser, I hid the now dead Dalek among the models. Hopefully that will stop the invasion of the mini Daleks.
