Adepticon 2015 Report
with David Griffin
Adepticon was held a bit early this year due to the change of venue to the Renaissance Convention Center in Schaumburg, IL. If anyone stayed away due to the venue change, have no fears for next year, this hotel will comfortably fit Adepticon for the next few years as it grows. We had 24 intrepid souls make the trip here to vie over the opening of the 2015 Nationals season. Able Kompanie came out in force but they were not alone with players arriving from New York, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota and Massachusetts as well as a few of the local contingent.

On the T.O. side of things, I had some help this year, Allen Smith offered his services as a second pair of eyes, rules answerer and alter-ego. His help was invaluable in both checking numbers, updating the forum and keeping everything on a lighter note. Of course, he still needs to learn to take selfies.
For the tournament we adhered strictly to the Swiss format, working from the highest down. We attempted to keep the matches as red vs. blue as much as possible, as well as trying to avoid Infantry units facing one another, but due to the number of Infantry customers this was not always possible. We had the standard 2.5-hour rounds except for the fair fight missions which were allocated three hours.
