Panzerschreck 2014:
Report & Results
Text by Tom Robertson
; Photos by Mike Haught
The sun shone on yet another beautiful Palmerston North day for the participants arriving for this year’s Panzerschreck XIV. The doubles format was used again this year and produced lots of entertaining games. It is always fun watching team players discussing tactics - what worked last time - should work in the next game, of course.

The games get under way.
Three games completed on Saturday followed by a steak bun with lots of coleslaw then off for more discussion on tactics (so I was told…). Sunday dawned fine after overnight rain - definitely the place to be - little rain - and two games to complete the tournament.

How far can I move again?
Very impressive this year was the quality of the painted armies - it was a difficult task selecting the top painted army and resulted in lots of discussion between the judges and then back to look at the armies again without getting in the way of the players actively involved in a game. At least one teams armies completely matched both being very well painted Polish Resistance that looked stunning on the table but the US Paras with the added shoulder patches were just stunning in all aspects.
Below:
Fun times for all.
Manawatu Duelists would like to thank all the players for coming and making the weekend a such a success. Further thanks to Placemakers for providing the MDF table tops and for Battlefront for their on-going support.
~ Tom.
