The Staghound III was a Staghound armoured car fitted with a surplus Crusader tank turret up-gunned with the more powerful 75mm gun and a Besa co-axial machine-gun.

Original trails on the vehicle proved unsatisfactory and the dragged out developmental process meant that only thirty two vehicles were converted by the end of the war. Even fewer were issue; however the XII Manitoba Dragoons who received a handful of these vehicles raved about it performed calling the Staghound III the best all-round 75mm armoured car of the war.
Designed to be replace the turret of the standard
Staghound (BR350)
