Week Two: Dave Griffin
Week Two:
Dave Griffin
Caught up now, everything is finally working like clockwork. I finished the 88s and StuGs early last week; they are now sitting there staring at me waiting for the rest of the unit.
Below:
Dave's 8.8cm FlaK are dull coated and ready for action, the only thing missing is their commander.
The 8.8cm FlaK36 guns have been pinned so I can elevate the guns to show when I fire them as anti-aircraft. This is important to game play so I thought it would be a good reminder for me.
Below:
Dave's elevated 88s ready to engage aircraft.
The first Grenadier Platoon and Command Staff are all but done as you can see, just the flocking on two bases left to do. Then its matte sealing and done.
Below:
My first Grenadier platoon is almost done. I need to finish basing the flock and static grass and then hit them dull coat.
Below:
My HQ is drying and will receive a dull coat in a day or two.
Quick talk about my basing technique for this army:
1. I cover the base with modeling paste. While it’s still wet I put glue on the bottom of the figures I have selected for that base and push them into the paste.
2. I then go back with a small sculpting tool and smooth out the paste that has squished around, filling the gaps around the bases of the figures.
3. After the paste and glue have dried I paint the entire base a dirt colour.
4. I cover the base entirely using simple white glue and add
Dirt Flock (GFS008)
.
5. Once that is dry I add patches of a mix of scenic I made (green static grass, parched straw, spring undergrowth, winter/dead static grass) using white glue again.
6. After they are dry, I seal them and the unit is ready to be played with.
The second Grenadier Platoon and snipers are cleaned up and ready to get painted this next week.
~ Dave.
