5cm PaK38 gun (Gebirgsjäger) (GE513) includes three 5cm PaK38 guns with crew, Command SMG team, one Small base & three Medium bases. Issued to the German Army in April 1941, the 5cm PaK38 was the successor of the 3.7cm PaK36 anti-tank gun. Developed in the late 1930s by Rheinmetall-Borsig, the 5cm Pak38 soon proved its worth during the early campaigns and into Operation Barbarossa. Left: The Command SMG team. Mounted on a split trail, the gun was usually towed by half-track but was light enough to be manhandled into position with the aid of a third wheel fitted to the spade piece of the trail. Fitted with a gun shield to provide protection for the crew, the gun was capable of firing both Armour Piercing and High Explosive rounds. In the hands of the highly motivated and experienced men of the Waffen-SS, the 5cm PaK38 provides a deterrent to enemy tanks in the absence of the Panzers. The 5cm PaK38 Guns

"The 5cm PaK38 gun has a Gun shield which means that even if you fail a Gun save, your opponent must make a Firepower test to destroy that team. But remember, Gun shields only provide Bulletproof cover from shots fired from in front of the gun; they do not provide protection if a team moved At The Double or from artillery bombardments."

"Use these anti-tank guns to protect your elite troops from enemy tank attacks. They are also useful as infantry guns for taking out enemy machine-guns, mortars, artillery, and other anti-tank guns. To round out their versatility, their high rate of fire makes them good against infantry as well."

Assembling the 5cm PaK38 Gun

Step 1. Attach the wheels to the sides of the gun trail.	Step 2. Add the gun barrel to the top of the gun trail.	Step 3. Finally, add the gun shield.

Modelling

Step 1. Model the Command SMG team on the Small base. Arrrange figures to taste.	Step 2. Model each 5cm PaK38 gun on a Medium base. Again arrange crew figures according to taste, use the photos featured in this article for inspiration.
