Week Three: Dave Griffin
 |
Week Three:
Dave Griffin
First Grenadier Platoon and Command Teams are complete and sealed. Second platoon is in the basing phase and should be done soon, the snipers may take a bit longer since I like to do special things with them and put more details on the base.
|
Below: The first platoon is 100% done. I finished their bases this week and dull coated them.
|
Pioneers are coming along nicely; they have their uniforms and skin painted. A quick run-down on my paint plan that has worked so far:
1. Clean and prime the entire platoon.
2. Prepare the entire platoon at the same time. I have made a station using a piece of 1x8 wood and nails. I drilled 11 rows of five holes that the nail can stand in. This allows me to organise the platoon into their teams. I use blue sticky tack to hold the men to the nail heads so I don’t have to touch the models as I paint.
I paint the entire platoon completely one step at a time as follows:
|
Below: My second grenadier platoon has been painted and ‘dipped’ with the Army Painter. Once I finish flocking and static grassing the bases I will spray them with dull coat.
|
 |
a.
I always paint the basic uniform color first; b. Skin; c. Webbing; d. Boots; e. Gear; f. Helmets; g. Wood; h. Bare metal; i. Touch up any over-paints/splatters/oops
3.
Use basing technique from previous week’s post.
Right: Company HQ has been dull coated and is now 100% done.
